Thanksgiving Day, a Family Gathering Together

As the turkey is being prepared and the pumpkin pies are cooling, it’s time to relax with family. Thanksgiving Day is a day for gathering together, no matter what your background or ethnicity may be. No matter where you live on this planet, we all gather around food to celebrate our lives and give thanks for everything that we have been given.

This year, I was lucky enough to photograph A Family Gathering Together in beautiful Pinecrest. Family arrived from New York, Guatemala and California to spend this day as a family.

Photographing families that haven’t been together had been extra special to me. It reminds me so much of my own family, and how wonderful will be when they visit.

Living away from your family is hard, and you often question yourself on those decisions, on the time you are missing living so far. However when you gather, there is no time for arguments (maybe a few) but my point is, you want to take in every single moment. Because you know it’s limited and soon everyone will be flying back home. So I guess it’s quality and not quantity….

Always, always fun photographing a Family Gathering Together. Here is what I was listening while editing these images, it kind of goes together.

May you grow up to be righteous
May you grow up to be true
May you always know the truth
And see the lights surrounding you
May you always be courageous
Stand upright and be strong
And may you stay
Forever young
(Bob Dylan)
