There is something about families that dines together. We all know that the family dinner is one of the most important and sacred parts of a family’s day. It’s a time to get together, eat some delicious food, laugh at funny stories, and catch up on each other’s lives. When my family visited from Argentina it still one of my favorite memories to spend the day at the beach and then dinner at Lighthouse Cafe.
It was Rebecca’s parents anniversary. And she wanted to surprise her mom and dad with a special gift. We spoke about doing a shoot. But she also told me how they gather together every Monday for a family dinner. No matter how crazy life gets, they make it happen. I know nowadays is hard when each family member has kids, and the kid’s ages go from 5 to 20 and everything in between.
People sometimes think their families are not entertaining enough to create moments like this, but you would be surprise. Because it’s not about standing out, its about being yourself. These types of shoot can be 2 or 3 hours and you will still get real moments like you get in a Day in the Life.
I truly admire Rebecca’s family. They know how important it is to spend time together and share a table. I learn something from every shoot I do. And this shoot was no exception. Thank you for inviting me to. I hope these images always brings happiness and reflect the wonderful family you are.
